We have completed 23 voyages to the Antarctic Peninsula during the Antarctic season 2009/10 in total. M/v Plancius and Professor Molchanov are on their way North to their home ports.

Plancius left Ushuaia for another exciting expedition to Antarctica. It will be the final voyage for this Antarctic season. Read more here.
23-02-2010 3rd journey to Antarctica
Another voyage ahead. Plancius has left Ushuaia for another adventure and wildlife cruise to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica.
05-02-2010 Success in Antarctica!
All ships are currently sailing to Antarctica. Special outdoor activities will be offered on Plancius. Professor Multanovskiy is under charter and Professor Molchanov is geared for wildlife encounters. Updated reports here.
26-01-2010 1st expedition completed!
Congratulations to the team of Plancius - staff , crew and first time passengers! Plancius has completed her maiden voyage to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica and safely returned back to port today. See impressions here
21-12-2009 Exploring South Georgia
Professor Molchanov is exploring the Northern shores of South Georgia until Christmas eve. The expedition is enjoying a great time so far. Christmas eve will most likely be spent in th sheltered waters of Drygalski Fjord!

Cruise around tabular icebergs of immense size and finally the discovery that the Weddell Sea lived up to its reputation of being a giant ice machine. The expedition decided to turn attention to the South Shetland Islands

Plancius sails silent, hardly any vibration and engine noise noticable on deck. She has proved to be seaworthy.

26-11-2009 Good sailing conditions across the Drake
The vessel approaches Nelson Strait between Nelson Island and Robert Island after a great day of sailing in the Drake Passage with clear skies, a fresh breeze with moderate swells from the NW and great speed.
21-11-2009 Molchanov and Multanovskiy return to Ushuaia
Professor Molchanov is about 370 nm away from the entrance to the Beagle Channel. The return journey, and in fact the total trip to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula has been a great success..
18-11-2009 First ever snowhoe landing!
Snowshoeing is a new activity in the Antarctic. Passengers and staff on Professor Molchanov implemented the first ever snowshoe landing at Aitcho Island , South Shetland Islands.
17-11-2009 Enroute to Antarctic Peninsula
Professor Molchanov managed a landing at Orcardas, South Orkneys. Early season navigation is tricky because of packed ice in the Weddel sea and enroute from South Georgia to Elephant Island.

Our ships are not the first to arrive in the area this season as the ice is really heavy in the East. The first day at sea from South Georgia was a fairly rough and most people had a lie-in.
16-11-2009 Antarctic Peninsula
The South Shetland Islands are free of ice. South of Anvers Island (Peninsula) there is a open drift ice. Reports from our ships will follow as soon as they sail these regions.
13-11-2009 South Georgia
Expedition Leaders on Professor Molchanov and Professor Multanovskiy reported a good start of the Antarctic season. Everything works according to schedule.
