Exploring South Georgia

Vessel: Professor Molchanov.
Date: 21-12-2009. Time: 11:00 CET, 08.00 LT
Position: 54'00S ; 37'58W.

The ship is on the way to South Georgia. The following landings are planned:
21-12-2009: Elsehul (am) / Right Whale Bay (pm)
22-12-2009: Salisbury Plain , Shackleton Walk (am) / Stromness (pm)
23-12-2009: Hercules Bay (am) / Grytviken (pm)
24-12-2009: St. Andrews Bay, Cooper Bay (am) / Drygalski Fjord, Larsen Harb. (pm)

The expedition will then explore the remote shores of South Georgia between 21st December to the 24th December. Christmas Eve will most likely be celebrated at the far East corner of the Island, probably Drygalski Fjord or Larsen Harbour. White Christmas guaranteed!
The voyage will continue to the South Orkney Islands, into the Weddell Sea and finally to the West side of the Antarctic Peninsula. If the expedition is lucky, they will have a New Year party on a nice view point somewhere along the Peninsula. A visit to Foyn Harbour and Cuverville Island is scheduled for the 31st of December! ETA in Ushuaia: 05 January 2010!
