Vessel: Plancius
Date: 30-11-2009. Time: 21:34 CET
Position: 51'44.74N ; 03'58.99E

The ship left Vlissingen in the very early morning hours in order to run through final rigorous mechanical and technical testing by Lloyd's Register. The vessels is stable, hardly any vibration and engine noise noticable on deck. The naval architect, Hans Heuvel from Oceanwide Marine Servive supervised the sea trial. He commented after the return: "the ship is behaving great and without any problems in all manoeuvres she had to tackle" . He was impressed by the complete silence on the ship: "Plancius is just like a Rolls Royce". The Russian Captain , Yuri Gorodnik, sailed many times to the polar regions for Oceanwide. For him, the Plancius is a very precise vessel to steer. He is very much looking forward to the upcoming voyages.
Later that day, Plancius returned back to port at 21.34 hrs after a successful completion of the final sea trials. We are ready to go !
